The Ohio Academy of Science Regional Science Day at Ohio University is for students in grades 5-12 in Ross, Hocking, Perry, Vinton, Jackson, Athens, Morgan, and Washington counties.
Ohio University is thrilled to once again partner with The Ohio Academy of Science (OAS) for the annual District 12 Science Day (DSD). As a Carnegie R1 designated university focused on preparing students for a career in science, we share the Academy’s passion for highlighting the accomplishments of Southeast Ohio’s budding scientists. ISEF Topic Categories-Subcategories
To begin a project or to prepare to submit a project for the 2025 Regional Science Day:
The student must create an account and “start a project” in ProjectBoard. Students can work in the Makers Space to develop a project, but this template cannot be submitted for competition. To submit to competition, students must complete the blue “Science Day” submission template. This template opens on December 9, 2024.
‣ Complete the necessary required “tiles/sections” in their project template
‣ Make sure that none of the “tiles” are in “Ready for Review” mode. They can be “completed” or in “draft” mode
‣ Make sure ISEF forms, final report and abstract are uploaded in the tile section, not in the comments section
‣ Check student profile information for completeness
‣ Submit the project
2025 Office Hours
The Ohio Academy of Science will be holding open office hours throughout January and February. These hours are for teachers, students, and parents to drop in for assistance with submitting a project to a 2025 event. Please use the links below to join a meeting if you need assistance.

11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. | Student Project Removal & Participant Lunch Break | Note: Students MUST remove projects from rooms prior to the awards ceremony
Participants are responsible for their own lunch. Lunch is available for purchase in the University cafeteria, located in McIntosh Center. Numerous establishments are located on Main Street in Ada (directly in front of the University). |

Parking Information
- Heritage Hall is Building 140 (Section D-1) on the top left corner of the Campus Map, and is just off West Union (US-56) on the West end of Campus.
- The street address is 191 W. Union St, Athens, OH 45701.
- Project drop off will be on the East side of the building off Factory Street.
- Parking is available across West Union near Lot 164 and across Factory Street in Lot 147.
- Parents may wait in Building 141 in Rooms 141 and 145.
