The Invention Convention began in 1993 in Sandusky, Ohio and today is a statewide program available to all Ohio school districts and students, at no charge. For over 20 years the Invention Convention program has been teaching students critical thinking skills, all while having fun.

To date, the Invention Convention has awarded over $650,000 in continuing education scholarships through our Regional Competitions hosted in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati. Invention Convention teaches problem-solving skills, builds self-esteem and rewards creativity.  Students are introduced to the engineering-design process and prototype building.

Today, the Invention Convention is available to all K-8 students. In 2016,  more than 7,000 students participated statewide in local competitions and over $30,000 in continuing education dollars were awarded to student inventors at the Invention Convention Regional Competitions.
